Variant merge
ShopeeTikTok
Consolidate duplicate or near-duplicate variants across platforms (Shopee, Lazada, TikTok) to simplify inventory and reduce confusion.
Variant merge identifies near-duplicate product variants and suggests merging them into a single canonical variant. Duplicate variants waste listing space, split customer reviews, and complicate inventory management.
How it works
- Detection — the engine scans your product catalog and groups variants with:
- Same or very similar titles (text similarity).
- Matching product images or very similar images (image similarity).
- Nearly identical descriptions or specs (description similarity).
- Clustering — when confidence is high (text + image + description similarity all agree), the engine flags the group as a merge candidate.
- Review & merge — you see the cluster, the confidence score, and the suggested canonical variant. Merging consolidates them under one SKU and keeps reviews/ratings unified.
- Cross-platform — variant merge works across Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok — so you can consolidate the same product listed separately on each platform.
When it fires
Variant merge appears when:
- You have product variants that are textually, visually, or informationally redundant.
- The engine has high confidence they're duplicates (not intentional variants like colors or sizes).
- Merging would simplify your catalog without losing distinct product variants.
Merging is permanent server-side; it combines reviews, images, and SKU data into the canonical variant. Dismissed variants are archived but not deleted.
