Payments

Shopee
How buyers pay, how often each payment method ends in a paid order, and the fee Shopee really charges you.

Payments shows how your buyers pay (cash on delivery, card, wallet and so on) and the transaction fee Shopee actually charged you, next to the rate Shopee publishes.

Open My Shop → Analytics → Payments. It covers orders placed on the dates you pick: the last 90 days to start, up to 92 days.

The four cards

CardWhat it tells you
Paid ordersHow many orders buyers paid for. A cash-on-delivery order counts once it has shipped and wasn't cancelled.
Buyer amount paidHow much buyers paid on those orders.
Transaction feesThe transaction fee Shopee took, tax included, on the orders Shopee has already paid you for.
Effective fee rateThe fee divided by the order value it's charged on. Underneath, Published rate is Shopee's official rate for your country, so you can compare.

For example, ฿3,210 of fees on ฿100,000 of orders is an Effective fee rate of 3.21%. If Published rate says 3.21%, you're paying what you expected.

Paid orders counts every paid order, but Transaction fees only counts orders Shopee has already paid you for. So for recent dates, dividing one by the other won't give you the rate on the card.

Payment methods

One row per way of paying, with the most-used first. Shopee has many payment names, so similar ones are grouped: Cash on delivery, Credit / debit card, Card installments, Buy now, pay later, Wallet, QR payment, Bank transfer and so on.

ColumnWhat it tells youExample
Paid ordersPaid orders that used this method.1,200
Share of paid ordersThis method's slice of all paid orders.40%: 4 in 10 paid orders used it.
Paid / placedOf the orders where buyers chose this method, how many actually got paid. For cash on delivery, that means shipped and not cancelled.70%: 3 in 10 orders placed with it never got paid.
Transaction feesFees on this method's orders.฿3,850
Effective fee rateThis method's fee as a percentage.3.21%
Shopee only confirms the exact fee when it pays you for an order, after delivery. So for recent days, Paid orders and the payment mix fill in first, and fees catch up a week or two later.

Use cases

  • Check you're paying what you expect. If Effective fee rate is well above Published rate, look down the rows to find the payment method that pushes it up. Check that method's fee against Shopee's current fee announcements, and allow for it when you set prices.
  • See how much depends on cash on delivery. Share of paid orders for Cash on delivery shows how much of your business is COD. Then open Cancellations to see whether COD orders get cancelled more than prepaid ones.
  • Spot payment drop-off. A low Paid / placed for one method means many buyers chose it and then never paid. For methods like bank transfer or QR payment, a chat reminder to pay before the order expires can save some of those sales. For cash on delivery, see Cancellations.
