Analytics use cases
Step-by-step recipes that use the Analytics pages together to make one decision.
Each Analytics page answers one question. These recipes use several pages together to make one decision.
Get more first-time buyers to come back
- On Customer cohorts, look at Chance of one more purchase. If 1→2 is much lower than 2→3, the second order is where you lose people.
- On Product rebuy, find first products with a high Returned for anything. These are the products whose buyers come back.
- Open those products in Product analysis. Product mix shows what their buyers buy next, and Return time shows when.
- In Seller Center, send first-time buyers a voucher or chat broadcast for that next product, shortly before the typical return time.
Find bundle and add-on pairs
- On Product network, set Statistical evidence to Significant, so you only see pairs that aren't coincidence.
- Look for arrows that are much thicker one way than the other, for example tripod → phone holder 40% but phone holder → tripod 5%. The product the arrow starts from is the main item, and the one it points to is the add-on.
- Click the arrow and check Affinity vs. expected. 1× means the pair is only as common as popularity alone would explain. 2× or more is a good sign of a real link, and 3× is strong.
- Set it up as an add-on deal or bundle deal.
Pick products to win new buyers with
- In Starting products on Product network, click the LTV · 180d column in Compare starting products to rank by it.
- Shortlist products with plenty of Product starts (first-time buyers who had the product in their first order) and a high LTV. Their buyers are worth the most after the first order.
- Check Next-basket AOV for each one in Product analysis.
- Put ad budget behind them in an optimization group, DataGlass's tool for managing Shopee ad budgets. Use Ad impact to check that more ad spend brings extra orders.
Judge a sale by the buyers it brought
- On Customer cohorts, set the dates to the sale and note Bought again and Value vs first purchase at 60 or 90 days.
- Do the same for ordinary days of the same length.
- If sale buyers came back much less, the sale mostly bought one-off orders. Weigh that against the discount when you plan the next one.
Lose fewer sales to cancellations
- On Cancellations, check Did buyers who cancelled to fix their order come back? Every buyer who never came back is a sale lost to hassle.
- In Products (the most lost orders first), look at Other size or colour and Main reason (the most common cancel reason for that product). Lots of swaps and fixes point to unclear variant names or size charts.
- Compare Cash on delivery against paid upfront, and check Payments to see how much of your business is COD.
- Watch Not shipped in time and Seller did not reply in Cancelled orders by day. Those are problems you can fix on your side.
Time deals and ad budget to the hour
- On Orders by hour, find the busiest hours in Orders per day.
- Switch to Returning share to see when your regulars shop and when new buyers find you.
- Time flash deals and chat broadcasts to match. On Shopee, change ad settings through the day with an optimization group's Timeline schedule.
