The Timeline schedule

ShopeeTikTok
Step a group's settings through the day with change points — on every day, or on one date.

A group runs one set of settings all day unless you step it. The Timeline tab is where you do that: a change point takes effect at its time and holds until the next one.

Nothing here is required. A group with no change points runs its saved settings from 00:00 to 23:59, which is what most groups should do.

What a change point can change

LaneWhat it sets from that time
Group Daily BudgetThe running day-to-date ceiling (see below)
Budget modeSpend at most, or spend all of it
ObjectiveProfit, GMV, or orders
ConstraintThe floor or ceiling a campaign must clear to get budget
DistributionBasis, influence and window
Random budget explorationOn or off
Target ROASThe target written to the platform

Any lane you leave alone follows the group — it inherits from Global settings rather than being blank.

The one rule that trips people up

A scheduled Group Daily Budget is a running total, not an allowance for that stretch of the day.

"฿500 from 18:00" means the group may have spent ฿500 in total by 18:00, not the group may spend another ฿500 this evening. Because it is a total, it can only rise as the day goes on. A change point that steps it down is rejected, with a one-click fix that raises the offending blocks to the amount they need.

Every day, or one date

The Schedule profile picker at the top holds two kinds of profile.

  • Default schedule — runs on every date that has no schedule of its own.
  • A dated profile — runs on that date instead of the default, not on top of it.

Add a date with Add a date. A date you have added but not customised still follows the default exactly; Customise this date gives it its own change points, which replace the default for that day.

A single date's change points can also be edited from the day panel on the Monthly Setting calendar — it is the same schedule, reached from the day rather than from the profile list.

Building one

  1. Add block, or drag across the timeline to draw one.
  2. Set the lanes you want to change in that block; leave the rest on the group's setting.
  3. Drag a block or its ends to move it — it moves over whatever is in the way.
  4. Save schedule.

The toolbar carries zoom (fit, or a fixed number of hours), snapping (30 minutes, 5 minutes, or off), and an Edit values mode — on, clicking a value on a block edits it; off, clicking a block cuts the day in two. A block's own menu copies its settings, pastes them onto another block, resets it to the group's settings, or removes it shifting left or right.

Every edit is undoable, and the header counts your changes since the last save.

The limits

LimitValue
Change points in one day6
Minimum gap between them30 minutes
TimesShop-local, on the half hour
The first oneEvery day must start with a change point at 00:00
Blocks across every date2,202 (366 dated profiles plus the default, six each)

Snapping to 5 minutes or turning it off changes where a block lands, not the 30-minute minimum gap — that always applies.

What blocks a save

The editor lists every problem with the block it belongs to, and most carry a one-click remedy.

ProblemWhat it means
Group Daily Budget steps downIt is the day's running total, so it cannot fall later in the day
Only the day's last schedule can spend all of itA target has to be the last word on the day
A GMV or Orders schedule needs a boundThe group has no monthly or daily budget, so give the schedule a constraint or a budget
A constraint and its value go togetherSet both, or neither
A distribution basis needs an influence and a windowAnd an influence or window with no basis is an orphan — clear both or pick a basis
00:00 of every date has to set a target ROASBecause one of your change points sets one
Two schedules start at the same timeRemove one

Problems on a profile you are not looking at are counted in the header, with a link to the date that holds them.

If the group's daily budget is already at the platform minimum there is no room to step the day at all — every block would have to be exactly that amount. Raise Group Daily Budget on Global settings to give the schedule room.

When it takes effect

The group follows a saved schedule from its next change point. An ended group keeps the schedule it ran, read-only.

On TikTok, a schedule changes budgets only. Scheduled budget caps and budget mode are applied; objective, constraint, distribution and exploration cannot vary by schedule, and a scheduled target ROAS is stored for audit but not pushed to TikTok. See TikTok GMV Max groups.
