The month plan

ShopeeTikTok
The calendar that paces a group's budget across the month, and how to give one date its own instruction.

Monthly Setting is the group's landing tab, and it is a month at a time. DataGlass paces the budget across the month rather than treating every day as identical — holding back for the days it expects to be worth more, and re-spreading what is left whenever a day comes in under or over.

Open a day to give it its own instruction.

Plan or forecast

The calendar reads two different ways depending on whether you set a Group Monthly Budget.

  • With a monthly budget — the amounts are a plan. The month's total is a commitment DataGlass paces out and will not exceed.
  • Without one — the amounts are Projected: what the model expects to be worth spending. Nothing is committed, and the shading says so.

Setting a Group Monthly Budget turns the forecast into a plan.

What is on the calendar

Across the top, four figures:

FigureMeaning
Group Monthly BudgetThe most this group may spend across the whole month
Spent this monthMonth-to-date spend across every campaign in the group
Budget leftThe month's amount less what has already gone
Days leftThe days the planner still spreads the remaining budget over

Each cell's shade is that day's ad spend, in six ranges. Past days shade on what was actually spent, future days on what is planned. A day may also carry a badge — Day lock, Day ceiling, Paused, Model-set, Projected, Planner sized, or a demand percentage.

The Calendar options menu switches the number drawn on each cell between Ad profit and Target ROAS.

Known shopping events — pre-hype, double-date days, mid-month, pay-day, year-end — are marked on the days they fall on, so you can see what the planner is pacing around.

Giving one day its own instruction

Open a day and choose how its budget works.

ModeWhat happens
Follow the groupThe day runs the group's own settings, like every other day
Spend exactlyThe date spends exactly this amount. It replaces Group Daily Budget for that date rather than sitting under it, so a higher amount is still spent in full
Spend at mostThe date may spend up to this amount, and less if the model does not think the rest earns its place
Pause this dayThe group's campaigns are paused on the platform for the whole date. The budget goes to the rest of the month
Let the model chooseNo daily limit on this date. The model picks the amount, ignoring Group Daily Budget. Group Monthly Budget, if set, still applies

Use Spend exactly for a day the money is committed to. Use Spend at most for a day you want to allow more on without promising it. Use Let the model choose for a day you expect to be worth more than a normal one and would rather not guess at.

Pause this day is a pause, not a budget of zero. Shopee reads a daily budget of zero as unlimited, so DataGlass pauses the campaigns instead. Never try to switch a day off by locking it to 0 — the amount must be more than zero, and the editor will tell you so.

Extra demand

Alongside the budget mode, a day takes an extra demand percentage: how much busier you know this date will be than the model could guess from history — a sale, a payday, a platform campaign.

The planner sizes the day around it. It moves budget between days; it never raises the month's amount. 0% leaves the day to the model's own forecast, and the range is 0–500%.

The rest of the day panel

An opened day has three sub-tabs beyond its budget:

  • Optimization — the group's settings, for this date only. Anything you leave alone follows the group. This is also where a date's target ROAS is set, since a target ROAS is carried by a date rather than by the group.
  • Campaigns — this date's allocation, alongside each campaign's editable platform target and Campaign Daily Budget.
  • Timeline — this date's own change points. Drag across the day to draw a block, then say what it does.

Days that have already run

A past day is a record, so nothing on it can be changed.

One caveat worth knowing: on a past day the settings shown are the group's current settings, not a record of what governed that date. What is factual about the day itself — what it spent, what it was allocated, and its own instruction — is shown beside the calendar.

Months with no solve

DataGlass solves one month at a time, so a month far ahead has no planned budgets and no shading — "No solve covers {month}". Days you set there are kept, and used once a solve reaches them. You can plan a sale month in advance and it will hold.

Likewise, a day the month plans but that has not been split yet reads "Not split yet": the month knows what the day should spend, but the per-campaign split is only produced when a solve reaches that day.

When it takes effect

Saving the month writes the day overrides and the next run plans the month around them. Nothing on this calendar reaches the platform on its own — the nightly run does that.
