Optimization groups

ShopeeTikTok
Pool campaigns under one budget decision and let DataGlass re-split it — every month, every day, and within the day.

An optimization group is a set of campaigns that share one budget decision. Instead of tuning each campaign by hand, you say what to maximize and what you are willing to spend, and DataGlass decides how much the group spends and how that spend is split — re-solved every night, and steppable within the day.

Where to find it

Ads is the groups table. It lists every campaign in the shop, grouped. Each campaign belongs to exactly one group, and a campaign DataGlass has not grouped yet gets its own single-campaign group, so nothing is left unmanaged.

Two platforms are supported, and each shop's Ads page shows the one it belongs to:

The four budget layers

The thing that surprises most sellers is that a group does not have one budget. It has a stack, and each layer is optional. Where you set nothing, the model chooses the amount.

LayerWhere you set itWhat it does
Group Monthly BudgetGlobal settingsThe most the group may spend across the whole month
Group Daily BudgetGlobal settingsThe amount, or the ceiling, for an ordinary day
Day lock / day ceilingMonthly SettingOne date's own amount, replacing the daily layer for that date
Change pointsTimelineA running day-to-date ceiling that steps up as the day goes on

Below all of that sits Campaign Daily Budget — an optional per-campaign ceiling so one member cannot take too large a share.

Budget and limits walks the stack in full, including budget mode: whether an amount is a ceiling you may end up under, or a target the group spends in full.

The group page

Open a group and you get six tabs.

TabWhat lives there
Monthly SettingThe month plan calendar. Open a day to lock its amount, pause it, or tell DataGlass to expect extra demand
Global settingsObjective, constraint, distribution, growth exploration, and the two budget layers. The defaults every day inherits
TimelineChange points that step the group's settings through the day
AutomationIF/THEN rules that watch a metric and change a setting
CampaignsThe members, what each is doing on the platform, and its allocation
Run historyEvery solve, what it produced, and whether it reached the platform

Global settings holds four decisions, each with its own page: the objective, the constraint, the distribution of the split, and the budget.

Above the tabs sit the group's figures — status, campaign count, profit, spend, ROAS, PA-ROAS and Group Daily Budget — plus the Auto Bid switch and End group.

Why group at all

  • One budget, many campaigns. A weak campaign stops draining budget a strong one could use.
  • Every day, not every quarter. The split is recomputed nightly against fresh performance.
  • A boundary you choose, at the grain you care about. A month, an ordinary day, one big sale day, or an hour of that day.
  • Nothing is left unmanaged. Every campaign in the shop sits in a group, even if it is a group of one.
