Orders by hour

ShopeeTikTok
The time of day when new and returning buyers place their orders.

By hour shows what time of day your orders come in, and whether they come from new or returning buyers.

Open My Shop → Analytics → Customers → By hour. It uses the dates you pick (up to 92 days) and the shop's local time. The line under the title shows the dates, the time zone and how many days were counted.

How to read it

There is one bar per hour, from 00 to 23. The chart has two views:

  • Orders per day (the default) shows how many orders arrive in that hour on an average day. Each bar is split into New, Returning and Uncertain buyers (people we can't tell are new, see Analytics). For example, a bar of 12 at 20 means that on an average day, about 12 orders come in between 8 and 9 pm.
  • Returning share shows how many of that hour's orders came from people who had bought before. For example, 40% at 21 means 4 in 10 orders placed between 9 and 10 pm came from repeat buyers.

Click a bar, or choose an hour under Inspect hour, to see its numbers. View hourly counts opens a table with every hour's orders, split by buyer type, plus Orders per day, Returning-order share and GMV.

These numbers count orders, not people.

Use cases

  • Put deals and ad budget where the orders are. The tallest bars in Orders per day are when the most people are buying, which makes them the best hours for flash deals and higher ad budgets. On Shopee, an optimization group's Timeline schedule can change ad settings through the day.
  • Reach loyal buyers when they shop. Hours with a high Returning share are when your existing buyers check in. They're good slots for chat broadcasts, live sessions or follow-up offers. Hours with mostly new buyers are when people find you for the first time.
  • Plan for a sale day. Set the date picker to a single double-date sale day and look at the 00 bar. Then do the same for an ordinary day. If the sale-day bar is much taller, start your deals and raise ad budgets at midnight.
