TikTok GMV Max groups
A TikTok shop's Ads page groups its GMV Max campaigns. The page, the calendar, the Timeline, the automation rules and the run history are the same surfaces as Shopee — but a narrower optimizer sits behind them, and several controls are shown as unavailable rather than silently ignored.
This page is the honest list. Every limitation below is also stated inline on the tab it affects.
What is grouped
GMV Max campaigns. Every GMV Max campaign DataGlass ingests gets a group, so nothing is left unmanaged, and a group covers one advertiser — if you select campaigns from two ad accounts, the dialog asks you to deselect one set. A shop with no TikTok ad account connected cannot create a group at all.
What works the same
- Group Monthly Budget and Group Daily Budget, including leaving the month uncapped.
- Budget mode — spend at most, or spend it all.
- Random budget exploration.
- The month plan — day locks, day ceilings, pausing a day, and extra demand.
- Automation, on a narrower metric set.
- Run history and the month-to-date ledger.
What is not applied yet
The optimizer
The objective stays Maximize profit and cannot be changed. Not applied:
- Constraints
- Distribution policy — no basis, influence or window
- Knowledge-gradient exploration (the Moderate level)
- Cannibalization
- Unsaved policy previews — a preview on a TikTok group uses the saved settings, and has not been applied to campaign budgets
The schedule
A TikTok schedule changes budgets only. Scheduled budget caps and budget mode are applied. Objective, constraint, distribution and exploration cannot vary by schedule, and a scheduled target ROAS is stored for audit but is not pushed to TikTok.
Automation
Spend, ROAS, orders and operational metrics are available. Profit and contribution metrics stay unavailable until TikTok attribution supplies them, and unsupported conditions and actions are omitted from the pickers rather than offered and then failing.
Campaign controls
| Action | On TikTok |
|---|---|
| Pause | Ends today's delivery window. Reversible — resume puts the campaign back on delivery |
| End | The same write as Pause. TikTok GMV Max has no terminal state for a campaign |
| Delete | Does not exist |
| Remove | Takes the campaign out of the group. It keeps running on TikTok |
A campaign you paused on TikTok yourself stays in the group and keeps reporting, but the group allocates it no budget.
Creating a TikTok group
From New group, either pick GMV Max campaigns that are not already in a group, or pick products and let DataGlass create one GMV Max campaign each.
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Group name | Required |
| Daily budget cap | Required, and at least enough to fund every campaign in the group |
| Monthly budget cap | Optional. Leave it empty to let the month run uncapped |
| Daily budget per campaign | For the products flow — the dialog shows the total the group cap has to cover |
| Target ROAS per campaign | TikTok requires a target on every GMV Max campaign. Tune it per campaign afterwards |
Creating a single GMV Max campaign
New campaign on an existing group takes a name, a daily budget, a ROAS bid, and either all eligible products or chosen item groups (paste the ids from TikTok Ads Manager).
