Campaign simulator
The campaign simulator answers two questions before a Shopee campaign: which products can I enroll? and will they actually make money at the campaign price? It's one editor workspace with three panes — a product library on the left, your campaign in the middle, and an inspector on the right — and it never writes to Shopee. Enrollment still happens by uploading the worksheet in Seller Centre.
Where to find it
Products → Campaign simulator (Shopee shops only).
The library — what can I enroll?
The left pane lists your products scored against Shopee's campaign rules, filtered to Eligible by default (All is one click away). Hover a product and click + to add it to the campaign at DataGlass's recommended enrollment price.
Every product carries a status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Eligible | Margin holds, rating ≥ 4, and the price is at or below the 90-day low. Ready to enroll. |
| Above 90-day low | The lowest price that still holds your margin is higher than your 90-day low — Shopee will reject it unless you give up more margin. |
| Rating below 4 | Product rating is under 4 (or none yet). Hard block. |
| COGS missing | No cost on file, so the profit floor can't be computed. Add a COGS to unlock it. |
| Can't hit target margin | Shopee's fees alone eat your target margin — no price can hit it. |
Filter the pool by status.Three pool-wide actions live at the bottom of the library:
- Browse all products — opens the full-width eligibility table for dense triage: every column (current price, campaign price, 90-day low, margin, stock), status filters, the Free / Paid campaign toggle, and checkboxes. Its Simulate selected button adds the checked rows to your campaign.
- Download worksheet — exports every eligible product as a Shopee campaign file (.xlsx) at DataGlass prices.
- Import Shopee file — prices a Shopee nomination file you already have and loads its rows into the campaign.
The campaign — your document
Each added product is a block: the header shows the item's revenue, profit, and profit vs current price; expand it to see each variant's Reserved stock, Price (with its source underneath), units sold, and profit.
Work it like a design tool:
- Click a block to select it; ⌘/Ctrl-click adds more; Shift-click selects a range; clicking a variant row narrows to that one variant.
- Esc clears the selection. Delete removes the selected products — an Undo toast brings them straight back.
- Every edit re-estimates live; an Estimating… chip shows while the numbers refresh.
The inspector — edit what's selected
The right pane follows your selection:
- Nothing selected — the campaign settings: price tier, Sales forecast, campaign days, demand boost, and the deeper tools.
- One product — its settings: reserved units, price, COGS, and (in Campaign phases) its β price response, plus the fee breakdown.
- Several products — shared settings across the whole selection. A field where they disagree shows Mixed; typing a value applies it to every selected product — set reserved stock on 20 products in one edit. Remove … from campaign clears them together.
Pick a Sales forecast
The Sales forecast setting decides how the simulator guesses how many units sell:
- Manual (% sold) (simplest) — you set one Sell-through (%), and that share of your reserved stock sells. Fast "what if it half sells out?" check.
- From past sales — forecasts from your real sales rate over a date range (Last 30 / 60 / 90 days or custom), scaled by Campaign days and a Demand boost multiplier (×1 = a normal day).
- Campaign phases (most powerful) — learns from your past campaigns to model the run-up, the campaign, and the tail separately. See Campaign phases.
The deeper tools
With products in the campaign, a floating island at the bottom of the document holds the deeper tools (each opens in the inspector), plus the cost breakdown, the Shopee-file import, and a product picker for items outside the pool — all optional:
- Past campaigns — teach the phase model your past campaign dates. See Campaign phases.
- Compare vs no campaign — measure the campaign's true extra sales against a quiet window. See Counterfactual.
- Ads / Affiliate — plan ad spend and affiliate cost into the forecast. See Ads planning.
- Costs — add an Extra commission fee (%) (e.g. the Use 3.21% button for Flash Sale), shown as a Campaign fee line.
Reading the results
The totals strip leads with the decision: Profit (after every Shopee fee and COGS) and profit vs current price, with revenue, units ( of {committed}), ads spend, and leftover stock beside them. Campaign phases adds a per-product sell-out chance and a low / likely / high demand range. Record decision — pinned under the campaign settings in the inspector — saves the plan to DataGlass to compare against real results later; nothing goes to Shopee.
Use cases
- "Should I join 12.12 with these products?" — add the eligible ones, keep the blocks that stay profitable.
- "What discount tier still makes money?" — select everything, switch the Price source, and watch margin.
- "Is a paid Flash Sale worth the 3.21% fee?" — flip Campaign type to Paid in Browse all products (or add the fee in Costs) and compare against Free.
- "How much stock should I commit?" — select the campaign, raise Reserved in one edit, and watch the sell-out chance climb.
What the simulator does not model
- Flash-sale commission uses your standard commission rate — Shopee's campaign-specific rate isn't available to the estimator, so treat paid-campaign profit as slightly optimistic.
- Return costs are carried from your recent baseline, not re-modeled at the campaign price.
- COGS missing rows show revenue but are left out of profit totals.
