Product history

See and correct how a variant's name, SKU, and COGS have changed over time — each value tied to the dates it was true.
Product history shows every recorded snapshot of the open variant — its name, nickname, SKU, model SKU, and the four COGS components (manufacturing, labor, shipping, packaging) — each tied to the date range it was in effect. Because past profit is calculated on the COGS that were true then, fixing a wrong historical cost corrects the margins on old orders too, not just today's.
How to use it
- Open a product's financial breakdown.
- Click Product history above the table.
- Read it top to bottom: each row is one time window, from its start date to the next change (the open-ended row is Present).
- Edit any cell in place to correct a value for that window.
- Add a row to record a value that changed on a date you know, so older orders are costed correctly.
Editing the Present row updates the live product. Editing or adding a dated row records a historical correction — it re-costs the orders that fall inside that window without changing the current listing.
